Big Changes: Arizona Payroll Tax Withholding Percentages

Jeff Geisler, CPA, CPP, the Payroll Manager at Ping, let us know that Arizona employers will soon receive instruction packets about the new payroll withholding percentages and forms. Employers can visit www.azdor.gov/business/withholdingtax.aspx to learn more.

 Employers can direct employees to www.azdor.gov/forms/withholding.aspx to use the new fillable A-4 form and also use an online calculator to help determine which percentage election would be right for them.

 The Arizona Department of Revenue strongly encourages every employee to complete a new A-4.  For existing employees who do not complete a new form, there is a cross-walk table in the instruction booklet to help employers map an employees’ old percentage election to a new allowable percentage. For new employees who do not complete an AZ A-4, the default percentage rate is 2.7%
