The ASCPA helps CPAs learn and teach others in many ways. We recently started a new series of programs called “Behind the Scenes.” A number of members heard from the VP Finance of the Phoenix Suns in February, and a sold-out crowd of members took a tour of the Fairytale Brownie Bakery in March. Stay tuned for more exciting CPA adventures that will be scheduled soon.
CPAs are helping the business community learn with a series of events sponsored by the Phoenix Business Journal called CFO Issues Ideas. The first event featured a panel of six CFOs answering questions about the economy. The next event is scheduled for June 17 at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. I hope to see you there.
We’re also helping CFOs learn by collaborating with the CFO Alliance, an organization that meets six times/year in Phoenix. A professor from Thunderbird provides information and facilitates discussion at these meetings.
