This past Sunday, my firm threw the switch to go live on Google Apps Premier for all enterprise email, instant messaging and other technology needs. We have been a user and big fan of Lotus Notes for more than a decade. We made the conversion for many reasons, some of which I will explore in future blog posts.
However, let’s get ahead of ourselves for just a bit with an interesting preview of our vision for team collaboration here in our firm.
Google Wave: Schools and Businesses to Get an Early Look
Way back in May, Google Google announced Google Wave at its Google I/O conference and since then, the potential game-changing aspects of the new communication platform have left developers and excited users in a frenzy. On September 30th, 100,000 Google Wave invites will go out to users who want to start to test the waters, so to speak. But, if you’re a Google Apps user, you might be able to get a sneak peek even earlier.
The following preview video is very interesting, and provides some hints of our vision here at CFO to facilitate team collaboration, office workflow processes and enterprise-wide workflow processes.
The entire video is lengthy, running one hour 20 minutes. Feel free to skip around in it as you have interest.
