The AICPA has begin posting audio tax programs online, with two already in place. The programs will be dealing with current tax matters, generally linked to the AICPA Tax Section’s E-Alerts that are sent to Tax Section members. However, listeners are not required to be Tax Section members (though only the members get the email that will have detailed links).
The first program online was an update tied to the E-Alert for the prior two weeks, but the second one is a recording of a conference call featuring Tom Ochsenschlager (AICPA Vice President-Taxation) along with Tax Division Directors Ed Karl and William Stromsen. The program took place in mid-January, and goes over the major developments in the recent past along with expectations for future developments. The call was a tax briefing summary for state society leaders.
The AICPA does have a subscription address if you want these programs automatically downloaded to your computer. In iTunes (by far the most popular player), you would go to the Advanced menu, then choose the option to “Subscribe to Podcast…” and enter the following address:
