Seminar: Blogging 101 – Tools for Business in the Age of Social Media 

Blogging is a term you hear every day. Just what is a blog? How can it help you or your business? Who blogs and why? What is social media and why should you care?This seminar will feature specific information that will help you understand the purpose of blogs, the technology used to create and maintain a blog, creative ideas about what topics you can blog about to increase exposure for you and/or your business. You will also learn about the phenomena of social media, where it came from, where it’s going, and most importantly, where you and your business fit in.

Presenter: Len Gutman, ABC

Len Gutman is president and founder of Open Door Communications, a full-service public relations and communications company based in Phoenix, Ariz.  Prior to founding Open Door Communications, Len was General Manager of Airport Customer Service Communications at Delta Air Lines in Atlanta, Ga. Additionally, Len worked for Insight Enterprises in Tempe, Ariz., where he directed all facets of corporate communications for this $2 billion reseller of computers, hardware and software.

Len is a member of both the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Len earned his accreditation from IABC in 2002, a designation achieved by less than 5 percent of the organization’s 13,000 members worldwide. He is an alumni of Valley Leadership and was named one of the “Forty Under Forty” up-and-coming community leaders by The Phoenix Business Journal. Len is the author of Giving Time: Making A Difference in Your Community (Llumina Press, 2003) and is a longtime columnist and contributing writer for the Arizona Republic.
